Pritzelago alpina ‘Ice Cube’™
This extremely hardy groundcover grows in a mounding-spreading habit and creates a blanket of bright white flowers in early spring. It grows 4-8 inches tall and wide. This charming perennial lives up to its name of ‘Ice Cube™ with its cold hardiness. The USDA zones are 3-9, meaning that it is cold hardy to a frigid -30°!
The ferny, deep green foliage forms a soft cushion from which clusters of tiny white flowers emerge. The flowers have a look and fragrance very similar to white Alyssum. The dainty blooms attract beneficial insects as well as bees and butterflies. ‘Ice Cube’™ will do well in rock gardens, along a garden path, in containers, beds and borders. Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy. Plant in full sun to part shade along the coast and shade inland.
We are currently growing Pritzelago alpina ‘Ice Cube’™ in 4.5” round pots. Visit our website clearwatercolor.com to see photos of these delightful plants. Also, we invite you to follow us on Instagram and Facebook @clearwatercolornursery.
