Bulbine frutescens ‘Hallmark’ (Orange Stalked Bulbine)
Fall is here and it’s the perfect time to add bright pops of orange to the landscape. Bulbine frutescens ‘Hallmark’ is a fantastic companion plant to many other water wise perennials such as Lavandula, Stachys, Statice, Salvia and Euphorbia. ‘Hallmark’ is heat tolerant and fairly cold tolerant, (down to 20°F) and is a repeat bloomer from late spring through fall.

It has a graceful arching growth habit, with narrow-fleshy bright green leaves that are arranged in opposite rows, forming an open rosette. Tall, thin spikes are topped with clusters of apricot-orange flowers that have frilly yellow stamens, attracting Hummingbirds and Butterflies. The plants grow 18-24 inches tall and spread by rhizomes, creating clumps 2-5 feet wide. These plants are ideal for borders, rock gardens, perennial beds, and containers. Plant in full sun, in well-drained soil. The Sunset Climate Zones are 8, 9, 12-24.

We are currently growing Bulbine frutescens ‘Hallmark’ in 1 gallon containers. Visit our website www.clearwatercolor.com to see photos of these and many other plants we are growing. Also, follow un on Instagram @clearwatercolornursery to see many other photos of plants in our beautiful nursery.
