Grevillea rosmarinifolia ‘Scarlet Sprite’
Grevillea rosmarinifolia ‘Scarlet Sprite’
Native to Australia, this semi-compact mounding shrub grows 4-5 feet tall x 6-8 feet wide. The soft needle-like foliage (very similar to Rosemary) is tipped with spidery scarlet-rose-pink flowers almost year-round. The sweet nectar of the flowers attract Hummingbirds, and the height and width of the plant provides shelter for ground-dwelling birds.
‘Scarlet Sprite’ is an excellent foundation plant and thrives in a variety of growing conditions. It is tolerant of seaside conditions, cold hardy to approximately 20°F, and can withstand extended dry periods (once established). Plant in full sun to partial shade. Avoid high-phosphate fertilizers, and excess irrigation. The Sunset Climate Zones are 8, 9, 12-24.
We are currently growing Grevillea rosmarinifolia ‘Scarlet Sprite’ in both one gallon and five gallon containers. Follow us on Instagram @clearwatercolornursery to see photos of many other plants we are growing.
