Lavandula angustifolia ‘Blue Spear’ (English Lavender)

Lavandula angustifolia ‘Blue Spear’ (English Lavender)

English Lavenders are one of the most popular varieties of Lavenders to grow in home gardens. They have a tidy, mounded growth habit with sweetly scented foliage and deep purple flower spikes. ‘Blue Spear’ is fairy new in the horticultural world and is gaining in popularity because of its uniform growth habit and flower spikes that are taller than most other Lavender angustifolias. It grows 11-13 inches tall x 9-11 inches wide and is ideal for garden beds and patio containers.

‘Blue Spear’ will thrive in full sun and well-drained soil. It is both heat and drought tolerant (once established). It is Rabbit and Deer resistant, but the local Bees, Butterflies, and Bumble Bees will make frequent visits. The Sunset Western Climate Zones are 2-24, making it ideal for most places in the Central Coast and Central Valley. We are currently growing Lavandula angustifolia ‘Blue Spear’ in 4.5” flats and 1 gallon containers. Visit our website www.clearwatercolor.com to photos of these attractive perennials, as well as many others we are growing. As always, we invite you to follow us on Instagram @clearwatercolornursery and Facebook. Better yet, come on out to the nursery and pay us a visit…we would love to see your smiling face!
