Lobelia x speciosa ‘Starship™ Deep Rose’
Lobelia x speciosa ‘Starship™ Deep Rose’
Towering spikes of deep rose blooms, standing above bronze-green foliage makes this perennial Lobelia a sure winner in the landscape. This is the perfect plant for the “Thriller” portion of a mixed container, along with Dahlberg Daisy ‘Golden Fleece’ as the “Filler” and Lobelia ‘Regatta Mix’ as the “Spiller”.
‘Starship™ Deep Rose’ grows 20-24” tall x 6-8” wide, with sturdy, well-branched stems, making for a beautiful cut flower. It is deer and rabbit resistant and creates a fabulous display when mass planted with Campanula poscharskyana, (another deer and rabbit resistant perennial).
The fan-like flowers bloom the first year, from late spring through autumn, and attract hummingbirds, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators to the garden. Plant in soil that is well-drained and rich in organic matter and provide full to part sun. The Sunset Climate Zones are 2-9, 14-17. We are currently growing Lobelia x speciosa ‘Starship™ Deep Rose’ in 4.5” pots.
