Kalanchoe orgyalis ‘Copper Spoons’ (Copper Kalanchoe)
Kalanchoe orgyalis ‘Copper Spoons’ is a unique succulent that grows 3-6 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide. It has multiple branches that are covered in bronze, ovate shaped leaves that fold upward from the center. The tops of the leaves have a felted texture and are covered with cinnamon colored hairs, and the underside of the leaves are a smoky gray.
Native to southern and south-west Madagascar, ‘Cooper Spoons’ thrives in well-drained, sandy-loamy soil. Plant in full sun along the coast and light shade inland. It requires little water and is hardy to about 25°F. A favorite of landscape professionals and home gardeners, the color and texture contrasts nicely with the cool blues and greys of many other succulents.
